Now I lay thee down to rest

My husband and I were saddened by the news that our neighbor's son, who was in the army in Iraq, was shot and killed last week. My husband had known Eric since he was 4 years old and was absolutely devastated by the news that he had been shot and was brain dead, but on life support in a Germany hospital. Eric's parents had to make the decision to pull the life support and last Friday we met the plane to usher Eric's body home to his final rest.

Eric died for our freedom and I am very proud of him as well as all of our men and women that are putting their lives in danger in Iraq.
