Four Days of Thanksgiving!

There is so much to be thankful for at Thanksgiving time:

Driving to 2 destinations for a total of 800 miles

2 whopping Thanksgiving meals(thankfully not in the same day)

Christmas shopping on Black Friday(busiest shopping day of the year)in Texas

Did I mention the worst traffic ever, both in Texas and on I-35

Yes, there is a lot to be thankful for, like having a nice and trustworthy vehicle to be able to make it to our intended destinations.

By God's love and grace that we and our loved ones are all healthy and able to provide our family's with abundant provisions on our tables.

And that we make enough money to provide nice gifts for our family and enough God given patience to trudge through the crowded stores and malls on the busiest shopping day ever.

And thank you lord for watching over us as we traveled on busy Highways.

And good times were had by all!!!!

We traveled to K.C. last weekend to see yet another Pitt State game. The tailgate party was awesome! Just wish I could say the same about the game. Needless to say, Pitt State lost by a score that won't be revealed in this blog, but a good time was had by all anyway when our whole family gets together. After the game our weary Pitt State gang headed to our room at Harrah's Hotel and Casino pictured above. After resting in the room for a short time, we headed down to eat at Toby Keith's, one of the restaurants inside the casino. Again, to the room for a short rest and then headed down to do business at the casino itself. My husband decided that Texas could not play football unless he was watching them, so he opted to stay with the kids in the room. I found my father at the poker table (watched for a while) and then decided to try my luck at the slots. I graciously left $20 to the one armed bandits, tried to find the rest of the gang (without much luck), fought the biggest crowd I have seen and with watery-smoke filled eyes headed back to the room to gather myself. Just made it to the room and received a call on the cell(Where are you?). O.K., so gave up on resting much and went back with replenished funds in hand(and cell phone) to face the crowds. Turns out that a cell phone also becomes a locator beacon for the lost. O.K., now it was off again to try my luck with the spinning wheel gods. It seems that you can spin for hours on the 1 cent machines(I actually did quite well). After that we spent some more time at the video poker machines(pretty much sucked at these). Seems you can have hours of fun for only $60(a small donation to the cause), however the noise and crowds were getting to me so I decided to call it a night. The next morning we had a wonderful brunch at the buffet in the casino row of restaurants and then headed back home. It was such a fun and exhausting weekend all at the same time. Seem you go on vacation only to come back home to get any rest!
