New Puppies are the greatest Right?

Before I introduce our new little addition, I would like to answer a comment from Don Hayen, author of Moonshine Harvest. Don, my dad is J.B. Miesse of Marion and as I have yet to read your book, (mainly because my dad keeps forgetting to lend me his copy) my intentions are to buy my own copy. He has told me though, that he thoroughly enjoyed it. So I am anxious to read it. I also worked for Max Hayen in the County Appraiser's office and I still belong to the Christian church in Marion(my home church)where Max and Donna are also members. Thanks for stopping by my blog and keep on writing!

As for the puppy. He is an 11 week old Italian Greyhound with boundless energy and very sharp little baby teeth. His name is Brody Red, aka pee paws (nasty habit of stepping where he shouldn't), buddy (that's what our son Jeremy wanted to name him), and no-no ( well you can kind of guess on that one). So, paper training is well under way and he seems to have days where he does great and I'm thinking wow, that was easy. Then there are those other days when he does his business right beside the papers. He doesn't seem to want to go "potty" outside, because there are too many distractions like cars, and people, and those whirly-bird seeds from the trees and any other shiny object. Italian Greyhounds, or Iggy's (as they are called) seem to be a bit like an A.D.D. child (easily distracted) and they don't have much hair, so the don't like to go out when it is cold. My dad calls him "ugly", but then picks him up and pulls him into his lap and starts talking to him and petting him. My step-mom has already said that he will need a sweater when it gets cold. Aw geesh, is this dog going to be spoiled or what?
Speaking of spoiling, the first night we had him my husband decided that he should sleep in the bed because he couldn't take the whining (it was so pathetic). Anyway, my husband works nights, so Brody goes to bed with me and when Randy comes home from work, he takes Brody in the other room with him for a little one-on-one playtime. One thing that we have plenty of is chew toys, and that's good because he likes to attack your hands and arms. I am sure to have a chew toy handy when he is in a playful mood. But after he has played hard, he is ready to curl up in your lap and sleep (then he looks simply angelic, just look at that face).
